Friday Feature – Bigtime Wines from Burgundy

Hello and Happy Friday!

I’ve got two great upcoming tastings at Perman Wine Selections that are not to be missed.

This next Wednesday (Aug 8) the Provence & Corsican tasting might just be the tasting of the year.  I’ve got a killer line-up and the wines will blow you away. The following week (Aug 15), I’ll be hosting a Jura & Savoie tasting that will be equally awesome!

I’ve very excited about this Friday Feature.  Red and White Burgundy are some of my favorite wines on earth.  For true enjoyment of the best of Burgundy, patience is required.

That’s why today is a very special day!  If patience is not your thing – you are in luck!  I was able to procure some older bottles that have been carefully cellared.

I also have an offer for one of the world’s most sought after, rare, and exciting Red Burgundies on earth.  It costs as much as a car, but how can you put a price on a “bucket list” type wine?!

*Please Note*
This Saturday, August 4th, Perman Wine Selections will have truncated hours and will be open from 11 am till 5 pm.  Hope to see you during the day!

1999 Domaine Latour-Giraud Meursault “Perrières,” Premier Cru
If you love White Burgundy, boy do I have a deal for you today!

I just scooped up some perfectly-cellared Meursault from Domaine Latour-Giraud!

Considered by most to be a very good producer in Meursault, the Domaine’s history goes back three centuries, although bottling and selling direct to consumers began only in the mid 1980’s.  They are based in the village of Meursault, and list a wide range of single-vineyard wines from the village.

One of the great Premier Cru sites in Meursault, if not the greatest, is that of “Perrières.”  Latour-Giraud is one of the biggest land holders in the vineyard with around 2 hectares of vines.

At age thirteen this wine is really singing.  It’s fully developed flavors of citrus, almond and mineral are accompanied by a surprisingly vibrant and juicy texture.

The current vintage of this wine sells for around $80-$90 per bottle.  The fact that I can offer the 1999 vintage for only $39.99 is almost to good to be true.  But it is!

I only have 28 bottles, so email me today to secure some today.

1996 Domaine Robert Groffier Chambolle-Musigny “Les Amoureuses,” Premier Cru
This is an excellent opportunity to buy and drink a legendary wine, from a legendary producer and legendary vintage!  Get the picture?

Red Burgundy fans covet the wines of the village of Chambolle-Musigny, and rightfully so.  The greatest wines from the village offer the quintessential Burgundy experience, perfume, red fruit, and a silky quality that very few wines on earth can achieve.

Robert Groffier is one of the best and most sought after producers in all of Burgundy.  They are wines that need to be aged, and luckily in your case I was able to purchase two wines directly from the domaine that have been stored for you perfectly.

“Les Amoureuses” is the greatest Premier Cru in Chambolle-Musigny, and most believe that it is a Grand Cru in all but name.

1996 is an A+ vintage, and I’ve just started to drink some of the wines that I’ve collected from the vintage.  A wine as great as this, still can age another decade.  But who wants to wait?

Amazing wine!

1989 Domaine Robert Groffier Chambertin-Clos de Bèze, Grand Cru
Yes, you read that right!

Also sourced directly from the domaine, here is one of the great Grand Cru’s in Burgundy – Chambertin-Clos de Bèze!

I could wax poetic for several pages, but in this, case I don’t think it is needed.

Want to treat yourself – buy this while you can!  Simply amazing!

2009 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti “Richebourg,” Grand Cru
Count this among the world’s greatest red wines!

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is a producer that is collected, traded and in the end enjoyed by the most ardent fans of Red Burgundy.

I was able to get one six-pack from the great Grand Cru named Richebourg.  The vineyard borders La Romanée Conti in the village of Vosne-Romanée.

2009 is an exceptional vintage.  The Domaine says about this vintage…

“…As a result, the grapes that passed by on the sorting table are among the most beautiful we have ever seen. As in 1999 or 2005, there were a lot of small clusters, many millerandage berries, and as a sign of the great years, the old vines, not very productive in general, yielded this year a generous harvest of small berries, sumptuous examples of the finest Pinot Noir.”

Whether you are buying this as an invest, or my preference, buying it to enjoy, purchasing it now will be an excellent investment into your future!
