Special Event – Txakoholika 2012

For one night only, please join Perman Wine Selections and X-marx on a guided wine tour through the Northern Spain countryside as we celebrate Basque cuisine, txakoli and hard Basque cider, aka sidra.

This is our fourth year of  Txakoholika (Choc-o-hol-i-ka), where the store will be transformed into a Basque-style pintxos bar offering a selection of small bites and a tasting of 4 different Txakolina and 2 ciders. This is a great opportunity to experience these new vintages of txakoli, learn a little something about Northern Spain’s food and wine culture and to eat and drink how the Basque do.

I will be your personal tour guide through Northern Spain’s wine and sidra country, stamping your passport with a sample glass of each of the 6 varieties for you to enjoy -either from the glass to the lips, or if you prefer, at arm’s length from the porrón! Attendees will also be able to purchase these very limited txakolis and sidra for all of your summer drinking needs!

 The talented folks at X-marx will also be guiding your taste buds on a journey through an eclectic mix of bold and interesting flavors built to complement the bright acidity and slight effervescence of the txakoli in the traditional finger food-style of the region the wines originate from. And no Basque celebration is complete without sidra; we will taste new vintages from two artisan producers.

 This event has been a blast every time we’ve done it, and we’re looking forward to rocking the west loop once again!

Parties will be admitted on the hour, please indicate the time you would like to arrive when purchasing your ticket. Primetime ‘seatings’ sell out quickly, so act fast!!!

Please note: this is an all white wine/sidra tasting – no red wines allowed!
