There is an aching fondness in our hearts for all things Nebbiolo; Craig harbors an obsession for it bordering on the unhealthy, and I have been known to be called Shebbiolo in certain Italian circles.
Of course, one of the greatest producers of Nebbiolo, in it’s noblest incarnation, Barolo, is the Vietti Family. Meticulous winemaking, art, family- all of these are synonymous with the Vietti name. Even Craig’s infant daughter knows a good thing when she is balanced precariously upon it. Here’s what we have for 2009:
2009 Vietti Barolo “Rocche” $144.99/BTL
a very traditional style from this famous cru in Castiglione
2009 Vietti Barolo “Lazzarito” $144.99/BTL
a more modern approach from this cru in Serralunga
2009 Vietti Barolo “Brunate” $144.99/BTL
long-lived and legendary, from this La Morra cru
