Tre Monti “Doppio Bianco” Pignoletto Frizzante '22

Tre Monti is located in the Predappio hills, and its history dates back to the 1970s. David and Vittorio Navacchia, the current generation in charge of the winery, chose to dedicate their resources to winemaking after the death of their mother, Thea, in the late 1980s. The family was one of the first in the early 1980s to work with consultants in farming as well as winemaking practices. The estate has been certified organic since 2014 and is transitioning to biodynamic farming. They vinify only estate-grown grapes, from about 50 hectares, and soils are composed of sand, clay, and pebbles.

“Doppio Bianco” is a frizzante (gently sparkling wine) made solely of Pignoletto, a grape variety indigenous to the Bologna hills. The grapes are harvested manually, and fermentation is carried out in pressurized tanks for 60 days. The wine is fermented in the Charmat method, creating a delicately textured bubble, which is ideal for serving with a charcuterie plate or anything fried, or for serving as an aperitif.
