Buscareto Lacrima di Morro d'Alba '17

Buscareto Lacrima di Morro d'Alba '17

This will be one of the most controversial wines we offer in this month’s wine club.

Lacrima di Morro d’Alba is a DOC located in the beautiful region of Le Marche. Lacrima is the distinctive grape that this wine is produced from, taking its name “tear” from both its shape, as well as the fact that its thin skin allows for tear-like drops to come from the grape. It is local to Ancona, a true speciality of the region.

So why so controversial? For many, its a love it or hate it type of wine. It is incredibly aromatic, with one of the most floral, rose petal-scented aromatics you will experience. The artistry of its production is in maintaining that floral quality, but not letting it overwhelm the wine.

We feel relative newcomer, Conti di Buscareto has accomplished that task.. Fermented in stainless steel, and rested in the tank thereafter, this wine is all about being fresh, lively, and light-bodied. I like to put a slight chill on it, and enjoy it alongside a vegetable risotto, or herb-crusted roast chicken.
