Chéreau Carré "Château l'Oiselinière de la Ramée" Muscadet '16

Loire Valley

Chéreau Carré "Château l'Oiselinière de la Ramée" Muscadet '16

This family-owned property has roots that date back to the 15th century.  The property is managed by Bernard Chéreau, whose family origins in the Loire Valley span back even further than the property, to the 11th century.  It's a sure bet to say that Bernard knows Muscadet and all that this appellation encompasses!

Château l’Oiselinière, meaning “owl’s nest,” comes from a very privileged site located directly at the intersection of the Sèvre and Maine rivers. It is a total of 10 hectares of 40-80 year-old vines facing southeast, enclosed by the two rivers and additionally surrounded by forests. The soils here are composed of schist and orthogneiss, classic for this part of the Loire.

The wine uses indigenous yeasts and is aged in cement tank for 6 months on its lees, and then an additional 12 months in bottle, to maintain its purity and help express the terroir further.

Clean, bright yellow citrus, salinous notes of minerality, and delicate white flowers bring about a mouth-watering wine, encouraging you to continue taking one sip after the other.  Perfect with any seafood, or just a fantastic way to start your night as a delicious aperitif.
