Domaine Bruno Clair Chambolle-Musigny "Les Véroilles" '13

Domaine Bruno Clair Chambolle-Musigny "Les Véroilles" '13

Bruno Clair comes from a lineage rich in Burgundy's history. Originally, Domain Clair-Daü, but since the family split up the properties, the Domaine inherited his namesake. While he has vineyards in several areas of the Côte de Nuits, all in which implement organic practices, this is 100% from Chambolle-Musigny with vines from 1989; this is one of his smallest plots and the only cuvée in which is label as such. The wine is partially destemmed, fermented in open wooden vats with pieage daily (2-8 times a day!) to help extract additional tannin, creating balance between its striking acidic quality. Even with higher amounts of pieage done daily, this wine is so silky and elegant. This wine is a show stopper and a fantastic representation of the area. Showing well now, and for years to come.
