Voerzio Langhe Nebbiolo "Disanfrancesco" '15

Voerzio Langhe Nebbiolo "Disanfrancesco" '15

Roberto Voerzio's winery is in the commune of La Morra in Barolo and the family has been making wine here since 1986. Voerzio is known for having the lowest yielding vines in all of Barolo, allowing his wines to develop immense, natural concentration. Voerzio does a great job at incorporating what can be referred to as both traditional and modern elements, in a way to avoid alienating any type of wine drinker. Will his meticulous capabilities and attention to such fine detail, all while considering the consumer, has allowed the winery to become greatly favored in the cult world of Barolo.

All the work is done by hand, all natural yeasts and elements utilized, with minimal amounts of sulphur at bottling. For some cuvées barrique and mid-sized casks are both utilized, and one can find Bordeaux varietals as well as classic varietals to the Langhe. It seems as if there is something for everyone in Voerzio's expansive portfolio.

Where his Barolo are truly meant to age and cellar, this feature focuses on the fresh and highly approachable Langhe Nebbiolo, completely vinified in tank to capture such freshness and purity. Capturing pure Nebbiolo from La Morra can be one of the most ethereal experiences for your palate. Expect classic notes of dried cherries, rose petals and hints of mint and licorice found along a firm palate from the low yielding Nebbiolo grown here.
